Starbury will make $21.9 million to not play in 2008-09

The NY Knicks are paying Stephon Marbury $21.9 million this season to do nothing. The Knicks say they won't trade, waive or play Starbury. And when the season ends along with his contract, Marbury will be a free agent.
"It is resolved," D'Antoni told a larger-than-usual contingent of reporters after practice on Tuesday. "It is. Pretty soon that story is not going to be fun to read because it is going to be the same old story.

"You are going to be beating a dead horse," he said.
Marbury doesn't currently have an agent, but there is no way he inks a contract (even short-term) that is anywhere near the money he's...ummm...earning now.

What is interesting is the comments he made about Larry Brown.
"Looking back at the last two years, I kind of liked Larry Brown," Marbury said with a laugh. "I kind of liked Larry Brown. I'm like, 'Man, I wish this guy was here to drill me now.'"
Funny how a coach who won't play you can make you appreciate a coach who only can't stand you.
