Gilbert Arenas to play on Saturday
According to Comcast's Chris Miller, Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas sent Miller a text to let him know that Arenas is going to play on Saturday against the Detroit Pistons.
He later told Ivan Carter "It's true if that's what ends up happening" and Dan Steinberg "it's only true if I play on Saturday. If I don't play, it ain't true."
After signing a six-year, $111 million contract last off-season, Arenas had his third knee surgery in September. He hasn't played a game the entire season and played in only 13 games last season.
In November, when the Wizards were 1-9, Arenas was already talking about the possibility of the Wizards getting a high draft pick.
The Wizards have three regular-season home games left after they play the Pistons on Saturday. If he plays in Cleveland, that is five games. So, in other words, he will take the Wizards for $14.5 million (Arenas' estimate for the first year of his contract) or just under $3 million per game.
Via text, Arenas said: “Ur the first to get the truth. I’m playing Saturday against Detroit. And I’m only playin home games, but I will play in Cleveland. Me and Cleveland fans have this love hate relation.”Arenas is a joke.
