Isiah Thomas talks to Clippers
Per Chris Sheriden of ESPN.com, Isiah Thomas, who is under contract with the Knicks for this year and the next two years, had talks with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Clippers' owner Donald Sterling may be looking to add someone to the team's front office to take some to reduce Dunleavy's workload. The strength of Thomas, who has been president, general manager and coach with the Knicks, has been the NBA draft.
The team fired Elgin Baylor earlier this year and Baylor has sued the Clippers alleging racial discrimination.
According to Sheriden's sources, the talks were set up by Mike Dunleavy, who is both the Clippers GM and head coach. Dunleavy is actually the third-longest tenured coach in the NBA.
Jerry West supposedly rejected an offer to become GM of the Clippers. As Tom Ziller of AOL's NBA Fanhouse, that is the part of Dunleavy's job that he has done reasonably well. The team should be looking for a coaching replacement instead.
The Clippers are currently 18-54 and 39 games out of first place.
