Stephen Jackson done for year
Per ESPN, Golden State Warriors G/F Stephen Jackson is going to have surgery to remove bone fragments from his left big toe. The surgery will end the season for Jackson.
Playing with the injury the past two seasons, Jackson was leading the Warriors in scoring (20.7 ppg) and assists (6.5 apg). He also averaged 5.1 rebounds per game and 1.8 3-pointers made per game.
Jackson is one of five players who was averaging at least 20 ppg, 5 rpg and 5 apg. The other four are Dwayne Wade, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Chris Paul.
Warriors guard Monta Ellis is averaging over 23 ppg in March.
The Warriors, 25-47, had no chance to catch the current eighth seed (Mavericks) to make the playoffs.
