I-76ers?
The Philadelphia 76ers engineered a great come-from-behind victory over the heavily-favored Orlando Magic in game one of their series. The Sixers trailed by as many as 18 points in the third quarter, but they won on a jump shot by Andre Iguodala with seconds remaining on the clock.
Regardless of your viewpoint on the phrase "stealing home-court advantage," the Sixers want to feel like they have home-court advantage.
In fact, they are offering several promotions, such as contests for free gasoline, free groceries, etc., to get folks in seats at the Wachovia Center for Friday night's game three of the series. The Wachovia Center holds 21,000 and the Sixers have sold 10,000 seats as of yesterday.
The best though is their request to temporarily re-name Schuylkill Expressway "I-76ers."
