Marvin Williams could return for Hawks tonight

Atlanta Hawks forward Marvin Williams hasn't played since hurting his back against the Detroit Pistons on March 7th. However, Williams may return to action against the Indiana Pacers on Friday.
“We’re going to see how he feels after shoot-around and then we’ll gauge it from there and see what he wants to do,” [coach Mike] Woodson said. “If he tells me he’s ready to go, we’ll make a decision as to what we’re going to do with him.”
Initially, it was feared that his season could be over. However, Williams opted for a rehabilitation program instead of surgery.
“I thought I was done [for the season] when they first explained it all to me,” Williams said. “The playoffs were certainly going to be a push or at least a stretch. I had high hopes, though. And now I definitely feel like I’m going to be back to my old self for the playoffs.”
The former number-two-overall pick out of North Carolina added range to his game this year. He averaged nearly one 3-pointer per game (54 in 59 games). Before this year, he made a combined 25 3-pointers in 223 games.

In 2008, Williams is averaging 14 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.
