Stephon Curry to enter NBA draft
Davidson junior guard Stephen Curry, son of former NBA sharpshooter Dell Curry, will forgo his senior season and enter the 2009 NBA draft.
Curry plans to hire an agent, which means that he won't be able to withdraw from the draft and return to school. (If a player doesn't hire an agent, they can withdraw from the NBA draft by June 15th and retain their collegiate eligibility.)
Lebron James was courtside when Davidson played NC State in December and Curry scored 44 points.

"During the whole process, some days I would say, 'I think I'm going to stay,' " Curry said. "Then some doubts would come in and I'd say, 'I'm going to leave.' Then more doubts would come in and I would keep going back and forth."Curry led the nation in scoring (28.6 points per game) and he gained national prominence in the 2008 NCAA tournament, where he led Davidson to the Elite Eight. This year, Davidson missed the tournament and lost in the second round of the NIT to Saint Mary's.

"He's like a [Richard] Hamilton in our league. He never stops moving," James said after that game. "He's the type of player that's hard to guard no matter how big you are. Guys in the NBA don't want to continue to chase guys like that."Curry, who had an outside shot of breaking "Pistol" Pete Maravich's all-time NCAA scoring record, is expected to be a lottery pick.
