Jason Kidd to meet with Mavs, and then Knicks tomorrow
We are less than two hours away from the start of NBA free agency. And that's when Dallas Mavericks point guard Jason Kidd will meet with Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, per Frank Isola of the NY Daily News.
“I certainly plan on being in NYC for a meeting at 12:01,” Cuban wrote [to Isola] in an e-mail.
Tomorrow, Kidd is scheduled to meet with NY Knicks president Donnie Walsh and coach Mike D'Antoni.
As Isola points out, the Knicks would only be able to sign Kidd for the mid-level exception. And while Kidd might be an improvement over Chris Duhon, he is 36 years old and not the same player he was when he led the Nets to back-to-back Finals appearances.
Last year, Kidd averaged 9.2 points, 8.7 assists and 6.2 rebounds per game.
