Jim Calhoun hospitalized after bike race
UConn mens basketball coach Jim Calhoun participated in a 50-mile charity bike ride today.
After mile 12, he fell off his bike. Although he continued to ride, he collapsed at the finish line due to dehydration and breaking five ribs from the fall.
He is expected to be hospitalized overnight and to be released Sunday.
But if you do the math, that means Calhoun, who turned 67 last month, rode for 38 miles with five broken ribs.
